School leadership (including governors) have evaluated the school as below:
Quality of Education | Behaviour & Attitudes | Personal Development | Leadership & Management |
Requires Improvement | Good | Good | Good |
This suggests that the school has moved on from its 2018 Ofsted inspection where it stated that the school Requires Improvement. Behaviour and attitudes are now good. Leadership is now good, but with the lack of externally verified results in summer 2020, the school is unwilling to support the statement that the Quality of Education is yet good. Summer 2021 (despite students not sitting exams) will show that outcomes have improved to match the progress seen in school, and therefore the Quality of Education will be seen as good.
However, we always look to improve and going into 2021/22, we are developing our existing School Improvement Action Plan. The focus is on the following priorities for the 2021/24 3-year period:
- Further improve the impact of Teaching & Learning over time
- Inclusion – Improve outcomes for SEND, PP, CP & LAC students
- Ensure academic progress recovery from impact of COVID-19
- Further improve student attitude to learning
- Ensure social & cultural recovery from impact of Covid-19
- Improve parental & community engagement
- Develop leadership
