Hetton School works closely with staff from the Primary Schools to provide a supportive and inclusive KS2/3 transition programme. During the academic year, primary school students in Years 5 & 6 are provided, along with their parents, opportunities to meet Hetton School staff, explore our facilities and experience taster lessons/activities.
Our four main partner primary schools are:
- Easington Lane Primary School
- Eppleton Academy
- Hetton Primary School
- Hetton Lyons Primary School
- East Rainton
As well as our main partner primaries, we also work with:
- The Ribbon, Murton
- South Hetton
- Gillas Lane Primary School
- Bernard Gilpin Primary School
- West Rainton Primary School
At Hetton School, we pride ourselves in our sporting achievements. At the top of this are our young footballers and cricketers. In the past few years our school teams have won the County Cups, the Sunderland Inter City Cup and reached several finals in both football and Cricket. This is credit to the skill and commitment of our own staff who have coached and supported our students to such success.
When pupils arrive at Hetton School in September, they will be in a Year 7 tutor group that is also part of Year 7 under a Head of Year. They will also be made part of a ‘House’ that they will compete for during their time at Hetton School.
There are 3 Houses – Bowes, Lambton & Neville
